4th Annual Tent-In

Help Hawk Mountain Council, Build the Future by participating in our 4th Annual Tent-in.

Choose Your Adventure:

November 17, 2023 – virtual broadcast OR

November 17-18, 2023 – in-person at HMSR

You can have fun AND help the Hawk Mountain Council Build the Future for our Scouts by joining the 2023 Tent-In. Commit to raising a minimum of $250 by asking your friends, family, and other Scouting families to help you get out of your tent.

This unique event will lock you into your “Virtual” Tent where you will need to ask friends and family to help you get back on the Scouting Trail with a donation to the Hawk Mountain Council.

Hawk Mountain Council is a non-profit organization that relies heavily on financial support from its Scouting community through Friends of Scouting (FOS), community special events, and the revenues generated from our summer camp programs at HMSR.

We need your help to “Build the Future” so that we can continue to provide a quality Scouting program to the youth in our community.

Giving our Scouts the opportunity to be involved with the adventures that Scouting provides, especially the outdoor activities our camp supports, is now more important than ever.

Commit to raising $250, $500, $750, or $1,000 by asking your friends, family, and other Scouters to Help Get You Out of the Tent and Back on the Trail.

FOS 2022

The annual Friends of Scouting campaign provides Scouters, parents, alumni, businesses, and community members with an opportunity to support the programs and facilities of the Hawk Mountain Council.

The true cost of Scouting is much greater than what local dues or event and camping fees cover. Yearly registration fees directly support the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America and help provide program development and research, literature, and other resources.

The Friends of Scouting Campaign gives individuals and businesses the opportunity to contribute to the Hawk Mountain Council at a level of their own choosing according to their interest and ability to give.

Join our Herbie Hawk Society

The Hawk Mountain Council, Herbie Hawk Society, is a monthly giving program to provide ongoing, regular support for Scouting. By committing to a monthly gift of at least $10, you can be a part of this exclusive group. The Herbie Hawk Society helps Scouting lower fundraising costs by eliminating monthly reminders and data entry.

A gift of $16.00 per month supports one youth for a year.

Heritage Club

The Hawk Mountain Council has created a unique Heritage Club. A special club to recognize individuals who strongly believe in the purposes of the Boy Scouts of America and who want to ensure the financial ability of the Hawk Mountain Council to expand its activities and bring greater excellence to all its Scouting programs.

The name, Heritage Club, is appropriate. Members of this club will perpetuate the strong heritage of values, which Scouting has instilled in generation after generation of American youth.

The Heritage Club recognizes donors who have committed to placing the Hawk Mountain Council in their estate plans or have provided an outright gift of $5,000 or more to the Council Endowment Fund. Outright gifts include cash or securities and deferred gifts include bequests, insurance, property, BSA gift annuities, trusts, and the BSA pooled income fund.

There are three levels of recognition:

  • Bronze – $5,000 – $25,000
  • Silver – $25,000 – $50,000
  • Gold – over $50,000

For more information on our Heritage Club, please use the contact form below.

Family Friends of Scouting

Family Friends of Scouting is an opportunity for families, friends, and alumni to support Scouting. When a member joins, the $66 registration fee goes directly to the national office of the Boy Scouts of America. If a Scout unit collects dues, that money stays with the unit to help pay for supplies, advancements, and other activities. None of that money supports the Hawk Mountain Council.

Memorials and Tributes

The Hawk Mountain Council has a Memorial/Tribute Fund established for its Scouters and supporters to make living and lasting tax-deductible contributions to the Scouting program. Contributions may be made for any amount as a living memorial or lasting tribute to a departed relative or in honor of someone.

Condolences, recognition, or congratulations may be expressed through the use of the Memorial/Tribute Fund, when material gifts or remembrances may not be desirable or appropriate.

Upon receipt of a contribution, the Council will mail a nice card to the family or group in whose memory or honor the gift is made and send an acknowledgment to you.

If you would like to make a contribution to the Hawk Mountain Council In Honor or In Memory of someone, please click here to download the memorials and tributes contribution card and mail the form to the Hawk Mountain Council, BSA – 5027 Pottsville Pike, Reading PA 19605. Or make an online contribution.

Please contact Duane Crouse with any questions at 610-926-3406.
