Welcome to the Hawk Mountain Council, BSA

We would like to say thank you. Thank you for your willingness to try out our great organization and all the fantastic benefits it has to offer your boy as he grows. Scouting is about character development and having confidence in yourself to Be Prepared!

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is the largest youth organization in the United States with over 1.5 million youth members and 1 million registered adult leaders.

Locally, the Hawk Mountain Council serves over 5,500 young men and women through the dedication of over 2,000 adult leaders and Friends of Scouting. We partner with over 160 churches and civic organizations that host one of our Scouting units. Together, our family provides over 305,000 community service hours each year.

Our program is a family program. One that we hope will become part of your family and you will come to enjoy Scouting just as much as your young man or young woman.

This page is designed to help you become familiar with Scouting and hopefully answer some questions you may have.

Stay Informed!

Scouting is active in so many ways and each month, we have numerous activities for both youth and adult members.

When you join your Pack, Troop, or Crew, make sure you get all the contact information you will need and also make sure you provide the means by which you wished to be contacted.

The Hawk Mountain Council Works very hard to make sure we keep our families informed. Here are some ways we keep people informed:

  • This website is a big part of our communication. Through it, you can sign up to receive our email communications and newsletters, register and pay for events and training, and read about the latest Scouting News.
  • ScoutWire is our regular electronic newsletter.
  • Our Facebook page
  • Call us at 610-926-3406

The number to Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation is 570-754-7552.

I have more questions, who can I talk to?

Our first recommendation is that you talk to your Den Leader, Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, or Crew Advisor. They have a lot of resources and knowledge about Scouting in your unit and may be able to help you out. Or if you wish please call us or use the contact form on this site to get in touch with us.

National Youth Leadership Training

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is the premier youth leadership program offered by Hawk Mountain Council. NYLT is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and crews, and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others.
