In-Kind and Pro Bono Donations

We are always in need of resources — from food for camping trips to office supplies.

The Hawk Mountain Council maintains a 700-acre camping and outdoor center as well as a Scout Service Center. In addition, we conduct events and outdoor adventures most every weekend.

In-Kind donations can greatly reduce expenditures and allow us to provide services to a greater community. We respectfully request that all in-kind donations be new or in “like-new” condition. Here are some ideas.

  • General Office Supplies
  • Office Paper
  • Canoes
  • Kayaks
  • Styrofoam Plates
  • Styrofoam Cups
  • Power Tools
  • Electric Welder Fuel
  • File Folders
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Push Brooms
  • Propane
  • Craft Supplies
  • Lumber
  • Paint
  • Run-in Sheds
  • Medical Supplies
  • Twine
  • Kitchen Equipment
  • Tarps Rope
  • Paddle Boards
  • Ammunition (.22LR and 12 gauge)
  • Stone/Gravel

Special Initiatives of the Hawk Mountain Council

Camp Scholarships

The Hawk Mountain Council believes that all youth should have the opportunity to attend camp regardless of their social or economic background. To that end, the council camping and finance committee has established a Camp Scholarship program to help offset the cost of attending camp. Applicants are encouraged to find a way to support themselves as much as possible through fundraising and savings. If they are short, the council is happy to help. On average, over 200 Scouts receive assistance each year.

Consider making a contribution to the Hawk Mountain Council’s Camp Scholarship Fund and help a young man or women attend camp.

Service to At-Risk and Underprivileged Youth

The Hawk Mountain Council is committed to ensuring that all young people have an opportunity to join Scouting, regardless of their circumstances, neighborhood, or cultural or ethnic background. [Read more…]

Family Friends of Scouting

Family Friends of Scouting is an opportunity for families, friends, and alumni to support Scouting. When a member joins, the $33 registration fee goes directly to the national office of the Boy Scouts of America. If a Scout unit collects dues, that money stays with the unit to help pay for supplies, advancements, and other activities. None of that money supports the Hawk Mountain Council.

Endowment – A Gift that Will Last a Lifetime

Scouting helps young men and women develop leadership, citizenship and personal fitness.

Learning from exemplary leaders, engaging programs, and timeless values, Scouts work to improve themselves and their communities. For many, positive attitudes and attributes learned as a youth will continue throughout life. Today’s Scouts will become tomorrow’s leaders in the trades and professions, business, education, government, and all walks of life.

You can help Scouting deliver these key values and skills for many years to come.

Encouraging gifts to the Hawk Mountain Council endowment is one of our highest priorities. A gift to endowment ensures that the council can continue to offer the outstanding programs we now have and also grow to meet the needs of our youth and community for the next 100 years and beyond.
