Appalachian District

Appalachian District is the Urban Outreach District of the Hawk Mountain Council.

This District provides ScoutReach and STEM Scout Programs to the youth in the City of Reading.

Black Rock District

Named after the black rock that is found in the area, anthracite coal. Coal mining in the area has been a way of life for many, many years.

Roundtable

UPDATED LOCATION FOR 2024 – 2025!

Roundtable is held on the second Wednesday of the month at the Christ Lutheran Church located at 325 Covered Bridge Rd, Oley, PA 19547. Roundtable starts at 7:00pm and finishes at 8:30pm.

Frontier District Awards

Each calendar year the Frontier district recognizes volunteers that go above and beyond to provide leadership, dedication, and invaluable service to the youth in their units, the district, and the council.

Award History

You can view the list of previous award winners. We are working to update and maintain this list more accurately. If you can help provide and/or correct information please contact us.

Frontiersman Award

The Frontiersman Award is presented yearly by a unit or the district to recognize adults who gave gone above and beyond in service to youth. Any adult registered and serving at the unit/district level is eligible to receive the award. Every Frontier District unit (Pack, Troop, Crew, or Post) is entitled to select ONE adult per year to receive the award. The unit committee should screen, select, and forward the response form to the Frontier District, Hawk Mountain Council, BSA. You can download and submit the nomination form.

District Award of Merit

Available to registered Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level. You can download and submit the nomination form.

Blue Pin – Cub Scout Pack (grades K – 5) that meets in a separate location from a Scouts BSA Troop
Red Pin – Scouts BSA Troop(s) (ages 11 – 17) & Cub Scout Pack (grades K – 5) who meet at the same location or where a Troop meets by itself
Green Pin – Venture Crew (ages 14 – 20)
