2023 Service to Youth & Community Breakfast

The 9th annual Service to Youth & Community Breakfast will be held on June 8, 2023 at Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation. This year we will honor Bob and Diane Greene of Pioneer Pole Buildings, Inc. as our Distinguished Citizen Honorees. We will also honor Anne Girard and Justin Smith as our Community Honorees. Pennsylvania State Representative, Jamie Barton of theThe Service to Youth & Community Award 124th District is the 2023 event chair.

Weather permitting, the event will occur outside under a tent. If necessary, the event will be indoors at Willits Dining Hall. Please wear comfortable shoes. The program begins at 8:00 am and will conclude by not later than 9:30 am.

Shooting Classic 2023

The 10th annual Shooting Classic will take place on April 21, 2023, at the South End Gun Club, 5330 Lorane Rd, Reading, PA 19606.  The Shooting Classic is a fun and competitive event to raise money to support the young women and young men of the Hawk Mountain Council. In the event’s first nine years, we raised over $540,000!

The day begins with a Novice Shooter Instruction Station at 11:30 am. Registration and lunch begin at 11:30 am. At 12:45 pm, we will have an opening ceremony and a safety briefing. The competition kicks off at 1:00 pm and is followed by dinner, a raw bar, social time, silent auction, and the awards ceremony.

Each participant shoots 100 trap targets and receives a commemorative shooter gift and 12-gauge shells. Squads are five participants. You may sign up as an individual and we will put you with a squad. You may also register with a full or partial squad.

Join us for the Hawk Mountain Council’s 42nd Annual Golf Classic & Extravaganza on May 8, 2023, at the Berkshire Country Club.

Supporting the 5,000 youth who annually experience Scouting Programs in Berks and Schuylkill Counties, along with the Panther Valley School District

Extravaganza:

There are two parts to this year’s Extravaganza: an online auction via Bidding Owl and an in-person silent auction at the Berkshire Country Club.  Online bidding is open to the public. There will be a wide variety of items and Scouting memorabilia in the online auction.

The Extravaganza Online Auction opens one week prior to the event!

Bortner, “Porcupine Pat” McKinney, Cheryl Wilhelm, and Greg Wilhelm  as our Community Honorees. Pennsylvania State Representative, Joe Kerwin of the 125 District is the 2022 event chair.

Sporting Clays Classic – 2022

The 9th annual Sporting Clays Classic will take place on April 22, 2022, at M&E Sporting Clays.  The Sporting Clays Classic is a fun and competitive event to raise money to support the young women and young men of the Hawk Mountain Council. In the event’s first eight years, we raised over $450,000!

The day begins with a Novice Shooter Instruction Station at 10:30 am. Registration begins at 11:00 am and lunch starts at 11:30 am. At 12:45 pm, we will have an opening ceremony and a safety briefing. The competition kicks off at 1:00 pm and is followed by dinner, a raw bar, social time, silent auction, and the awards ceremony.

Each participant shoots a 100-target course and receives a commemorative shooter gift and 12-gauge shells for the course. Squads are groups of five to six participants. You may sign up as an individual and we will put you with a squad. You may also register with a group.

40th Annual Golf Classic

The 40th annual Golf Classic will take place at the Berkshire Country Club on June 21, 2021. This event is an exciting opportunity for golfers to play on a lovely and well maintained course. Shotgun start is at noon. If conditions allow, we will celebrate with a post-event Extravaganza.
