STEM U

STEM U will take place on March 19th, 2022 at Albright College.

There will only be a Scouts BSA merit badge program this year. No Cub Scout activities will be available.

Location:
Albright College, 1350 Bern Street, Reading, PA 19604 (campus map)

Event Details:

  • Scouts will check in at the Albright College Campus Center Main Lounge between 8:15 AM and 8:45 AM. Scouts attending only an afternoon merit badge class can check in at the Main Lounge between 12:30 PM and 12:45 PM.
  • Scouts will be picked up shortly after 3:30 PM at the Albright College Main Parking Lot or at the Campus Center Main Lounge.  The afternoon merit badge classes end at 3:30 PM.
  • Scouts should bring their lunch and will be required to wear a mask that covers mouth and nose while indoors.
  • Remember to check the prerequisite list and bring the required items to class or submit your pre-requisites on the Google Classroom (if it applies to your merit badge class).
  • All Scouts should have signed merit badge “blue cards” from their Scoutmaster for each merit badge they are taking.

Citizenship in Society Merit Badge

Citizenship in Society is a new merit badge that will be required for the rank of Eagle Scout as of July 1, 2022. The emphasis of this merit badge for Scouts to explore ways to live the Scout Oath and Scout Law.  This merit badge is different; there will be no merit badge book and there is no “correct” answer for any of the requirements. Merit Badge Classes

Council Staff will offer a class on four Mondays: July 11, July 18, July 25, and August 15. Each session begins at 7:00 pm in the second floor conference room at the Council Office. Participants must attend all sessions to complete the merit badge and participation is limited to Scouts that are ages 15+ and/or Life rank.  For more information and to sign up, please CLICK HERE. National Youth Leadership Training

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is the premier youth leadership program offered by Hawk Mountain Council. NYLT is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and crews, and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others.
